Chrysler hounds, harass's, relentless

I have been driving around 30 years, Chrysler is the Worst Co of all the different makes of cars. They astound me with their stupidity, arrogance, and they don't know what they are doing. I have had it with these foreigners calling me and I have no idea what they are saying- they can't speak English, and this is a Comapany that we the Tax Payers have helped with our money to stay afloat. Please don't buy a Car, or get a loan from these Idiots. Trust me with what I have said, they are the Worst. Thanks for reading this, Dr D

Harassing Calls Daily from Chrysler Financial

I recieve harassing collection calls daily from Chrysler Financial over my $166.00 monthly payment being late. Some times they call several times a day and hang up when I answer the phone.

None of the numbers that come up on my caller ID identify the call as coming from Chrysler Financial. None of their representatives will give me their actual office adress where they are calling from. I have told each representative that I am currently on disability (hip replacement surgery) and will disburse my payments whe I recieve my check and request that they stop calling. I get the same response from most of their representatives; Unless you make arrangements to pay the call will continue, and the calls do continue.

I've recieved up to ten calls one day.

When I am done with this account Chrysler will never recieve another dime of my money. I have filed two Federal Trade commision complaints and two Attorney General complaints to date, and they month isnt even over.

TD Bank Group to acquire Chrysler Financial

Note: All figures in US$ unless otherwise noted.

TD Bank Group to acquire Chrysler Financial

- TD to gain North American organic growth platform - Transaction gives TD access to top talent, systems and technology

- Transaction allows TD to expand in large market with significant potential upside

TORONTO, ONTARIO, December 21, 2010 — TD Bank Group (TD) (TSX and NYSE: TD), and Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. (Cerberus), today announced an agreement under which Chrysler Financial will be sold to TD for cash consideration of approximately $6.3 billion. The purchase is comprised of net assets of $5.9 billion and approximately $400 million in goodwill. TD does not intend to issue common equity in connection with this transaction.

Under the terms of the agreement, TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TD, will acquire Chrysler Financial in the U.S. and TD will acquire Chrysler Financial in Canada. The acquisition will give TD all of Chrysler Financial’s processes and technology as well as its existing portfolio of retail assets on both sides of the border. Following this transaction, the business – combined with TD’s current platforms in Canada and the United States – will be positioned as a top 5 bank-owned auto lender in North America.

“This transaction represents a unique opportunity to purchase a great organic growth platform at an attractive price,” said Ed Clark, Group President and CEO, TD. “Chrysler Financial is a well-run business with the capacity for significantly higher returns over the next several years. This acquisition will allow us to leverage our lending expertise and financial strength to expand our presence in a large North American market with tremendous potential upside.”

Clark continued: “Because we’re well-capitalized and a leading deposit franchise, we’ve been looking for opportunities to accelerate the growth of our loan book. This acquisition gives us that opportunity and also diversifies our lending portfolio.”

The acquisition will give TD a platform for asset generation in the North American automotive lending market, enabling it to significantly grow its consumer loan portfolio. In addition to the existing dealer relationships that TD has in Canada and the U.S., Chrysler Financial’s dealer clients serve approximately 1 million customers. TD expects that the business could generate a return on invested capital of approximately 20% in three to four years, once it is operating at a steady run rate for target originations.

With about 1,850 employees in Canada and in the United States, Chrysler Financial has more than 45 years of operating experience in the consumer and commercial auto financing market. It is one of the largest auto financing firms in North America, with a strong service culture. In the U.S., the automotive finance industry is the second largest non-mortgage consumer asset class after credit cards. It comprises about $650-700 billion in outstanding receivables and $350-400 billion in annual originations on a normalized basis. Chrysler Financial plans to focus on the prime market.

m; A deadbeat doesnt pay their bills! I find that comment offensive.

Evidently you must have similar issues or you would not have even viewed the post.

tony; I have one year left on the note! Nuff said...

Rich; I recently loaned $300.00 to a co-worker. He was in dire straights (so am I). He did not repay me the way he said he would but, he did make the effort.

I would still not call or harass him everyday. Pure harassment!

Our tax dollars were used to bail Chrysler out of a jam awhile back. You must be UAW...

Guest

If someone owed you money you would probably call them a lot too. If you can't afford the car you should make arrangements with them to get rid of it.

Guest

Good luck to you .I just paid off my loan with them and I will never purchase anything chrysler again. I admit I was late on payments but each time I called before the due date and made arrangements. That still did not stop them from calling 9 times a day sometimes more. The reps are so rude they really need medication and therapy along with anger management.Evidently they do not have any customer service training.

Guest

Just pay or give up your car.

Guest

For what DEADBEAT?????? If you cant pay call and make arrangements instead of CRYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry

Purchasing a leased vehicle

I wanted to purchase my leased vehicle and was denied. Two dealerships would only approve a new vehicle purchase.

My daughter tried to purchased this vehicle due to the excessive milage where I moved to find another job, and the land mass is the largest in the U.S.A. Again, told only a new vehicle. Now I owe $8,500 and this is insane. There should not have been a problem, and not costing consumers additional money.

Why would a 2008 was not approved, and a 2011 approved, and the dealership would not roll over the milage now its an outstanding balance. My daughter purchased the new vehicle financed by Chrysler.

I am out of work, and this should have never happened. I am PISSED

My lease will be up in April, and Chrysler Financial called me DAILY, starting about a month ago. I have never been late on a payment, ever. They are calling me and saying "We OWN your car. You had better tell us what you plan to do at the end of your lease." Hey, *** there is no clause in my lease that says I have to tell you ANYTHING about what I plan to do until the lease is up. When I told them I had an appointment to meet with my dealer and talk about my options, they said, "That's unacceptable. Your dealer doesn't own your car. WE OWN YOUR CAR." She made it sound like they were going to come and re-po the car I HAVE NEVER MADE A LATE PAYMENT ON, EVER!

To complicate matters, my dealer calls me every other day, also telling me it's imperative that I figure out what I'm going to do. I know that, people...but I have until April, and let me tell you, it's getting to the point where the thought of buying another car from you makes me sick to my stomach.

I see that Chrysler Financial was recently bought out, and I wonder if they just hired a bunch of thug collection agency people to try to clean out all of their remaining leases. I have never seen such animosity between the financial end of things and the dealership. It's just crazy!!

The would not lower there interest charge...

My husband got a loan through Chrysler back in 2007. He had no credit, no credit cards nothing.

Chrysler gave him the loan at 20% interest. Since my husband never had credit he wasn't aware how much 20% was. When the first bill came in he was in shock. He tried to refinance and they told him he had t wait 1 year.

So he did went back to refinance with them they said they are legally not allow to negotiate the 20%. AND NO ONE WILL FINANCE THAT LOAN SINCE THE INTEREST IS SO HIGH. HE HAD BETTER CHANCES GOING THROUGH A LOAN SHARK.... Now he is stuck with a $600 monthly payment for 2 more years.

CAN YOU SAY RIPP OFF!!!!

I WISH SOMEONE WOULD SUE THEM. AND THE ATTORNEY GENERAL DOES NOTHING.....

If you signed a contract that you did not read or understand, that is what you get. Consider it a very cheap education ! Don't sign things you have not read and do not understand.

Guest

Didn't you study math in high school? Don't you know what 20% means? Yet another scream from person who bought more that can afford.

Guest

You yankees are so ***. No wonder there is such a "credit crunch" down there, when idiots like your husband pay 20% interest on a car loan.

Amazing! If you only qualify for such an exorbitent interest rate, why not buy an older car until your score improves?

Enjoy those $600/mo payments! :grin

Garnished for a closed account

Feb. 08, 2011 I purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee many years ago. My wife and I had full coverage including death insurance. My wife died in 2007,and the insurance kicked in. Then, in 2009, Chrysler Financial garnished my bank account. I called and they took the garnishment off. Now, yesterday, they put another garnishment on my bank account. I called again and they said that the account has been paid off by my late wife's ins. Why are they trying to get double payments. I think I will have my attorney contact them. The account was closed out in 2003. I just don't understand what they are doing! They got bail-out money, why are they trying to steal more?!

Beware of Chrysler "Service Contract"

The service contract was explained as 100% refundable if not used as were my GM and Ford contracts. Both GM and Ford made good on the refund if not used.

When I contacted Chrysler they said that I had used 57% of my contract had been used and a 1500$ contract had only 800$ left on it. The vehicle was still under the manufactures waranty (7/70). It had only 57000 miles on it but because they back date the purchase of the service contract it had one half of the value left. The car had never been repaired using the service contract just time had devalued it.

Purchase a extended service contract that give you 100% back if not used.

Chrysler says that they would need to speak to the seller of the contract to find why it was explained wrong but they closed my dealer!

It does not make sense that any extended warranty plan would be 100% refundable if not used. If that was the case everybody would buy one.

No brainer.

When you purchase home or auto insurance but dont use thoughout the year you dont expect for them to refund you 100%, correct? Same is true for extended warranty.

Guest

I sell service contracts and I do not know of any service contracts that are 100% refundable. Don't blame the service contract, but the liar selling you the contract. do your homework and ask questions, my customers do!!!!

Disposition Fee

My lease on my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee is coming to an end on April 2, 2009. I was planning on getting another Jeep, but Chrysler Financial stopped doing leases as of August 1, 2008. Since I only lease my cars, I decided to go with a Nissan instead.

I just made my last lease payment to Chrysler Financial to fulfill my contract. However, to my surprise, I found out that I still owe $425. I called Chrysler Financial to find out what this extra "˜fee' was for. I was told that since I didn't lease or buy another Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge, I had to pay a $425 disposition fee.

I stated that I knew nothing about this fee and asked why the dealership never informed me before I signed the contract. All they said was that they were sorry that no one told me but if they told everyone about the disposition fee, they wouldn't sell any cars.

Then I was told that it was my fault for not reading the contract close enough. One guy I spoke with said, "You must not lease cars very often because every dealership/company has a disposition fee." The Nissan that I just leased is my sixth car and I have NEVER heard of nor have I paid a disposition fee! (FYI: I called Nissan, Toyota and Honda and NONE of these companies have a disposition fee!)

In the end, I will have no choice but to pay the $425 disposition fee since it was stated in a binding contract, I signed it and I refuse to let it affect my credit. However, it is NOT going to stop me from running my mouth, letting everyone know about the shady business practice Chrysler Financial is conducting! I know I may only be one person, but word of mouth is powerful and I intend to inform as many people as I can so they don't make the same mistake I did!

Disposition fees are normal for leases. Not something that should be a surprise.

Guest

Just happened to me...FI turned that jeep in better condition than when i got it. Noone mentioned this Fee. I've leased Honda and others...never had such an issue...Chrysler just lost a customer.LETS KEEP RUNNING OUR MOUTHS!!!

Guest

We also leased a 2014 Jeep Patriot and the leasing agent at Chrysler said nothing of a disposition charge if we didn’t lease a Chrysler product again. Does not matter I purchased a new Dodge Ram 3500 diesel in 2013 and still have it.

My advice, don’t trust anyone and read the FINE print. What happened to those days when a handshake and a smile was golden.

You will never see that a most auto dealerships again. Please, someone go back to years ago when a persons word was worth a million.

Guest

Many, many leading companies have disposition fees. Also, many contracts have the disposition fee on the front page.

For example, both US Bank (which leases many types of vehicles) and GMFinancial have their dispo fee in box 4 (or 5, depending on the set up of contract).Regardless of if the dealer did not tell you it was there, it is YOUR own fault for not reading the contract in its entirety. It is not the dealers job to hold your hand, it is not their contract - it is yours.

Guest

They are not the only company, Kia Nissan, all they do is extort money. I'm not paying it plain and simple

Guest

Oh I just went through this and called Chrysler Capital. They said it's in the contract.

Who really reads the small print? I never remember being told this at the beginning of the lease and was not made aware at the end. I also called the dealer and there is nothing they can do.

I have leased several vehicles and this has never happened before. I will spread the word to never deal with Chrysler Capital and will never lease again!

Guest

So what you are doing here is trying to blame someone other than yourself for the "disposition fee"? Was it written in using onion juice at the time of lease inception, then the provision mysteriously disappeared when you looked at it?

Even more reason to READ WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING!!! Once you and the dealership sign a transaction agreement, the provisions you've both agreed to are set in stone, unless mutually modified.

Disposition fees are the norm in vehicle leases and have been for at least 10 years, maybe longer.

Everything's negotiable, but that's before the pen goes to paper.

Guest

Invaluable blog post - Incidentally , if your company needs to fill out a a form , my assistant filled out and faxed a fillable form here http://pdf.ac/5tdgUU.

Guest

I leased a Honda at Atlantic Honda and they have a $400 disposition fee as well.

Guest

Stay away from KIA, just turned in a 36 month lease with less than 20,000 miles in perfect condition and get a bill for over 900 dollars. It needed new front tires, which is fine.

I'll pay that because that applies for all leases. Then I get hit with a bill for $450 for a "Disposition Fee". Checked my contract and yes it's there. Never mentioned while signing.

Shady practice Kia. I've leased for over 20 years and never heard of such a thing. Not with Nissan, Honda or Mercury (when they were around).

Bottom line: STAY AWAY FROM KIA, Dirty business, old school used car lot sales tactics.

STAY AWAY FROM ALL KIA's.

Chrysler Financial Acknowledges payment received but can't find money

Chrysler financial received payment 10 days ago for our business vehicle lease, but is still making collection calls looking for the money. The supervisors state that they show payment was made, our bank account shows the money was taken out along with a confirmation number from the bank, and a confirmation number from the automated payment line.

Today, Chrysler calls asking for a copy of our bank statement showing the money was taken out because they can't find the money! WTF! This has been going on for days and still the calls are coming.

From what I understand, Chrysler has done this to other business owners that we interact with.

If you must utilize a Chrysler product, obtain financing elsewhere or just get a different vehicle. We utilize FORD, GMAC, HONDA and International - ALL without issues...(to date.)

Guest

The government is making Chrysler Financial close all their business and the company will seize to exist sometime in the near future so trust me they are not getting off easy. I do not think any business or customer or citizen of the United States (and for that matter a lot of the world) are getting off easy. Deal with it as best you can and move on.

justicefortangy

If you have alot of debt, you may look into filing bankruptcy which will relive you from your unsecured debt (Chapter 7). Chrysler Financial are harsh with their debt collections, as many others in that industry.

I do know that there are rules they have to abide by when speaking with you, look at the fair debt collections act or if you don't want them to call you I, just send them a letter telling them not to do so.

I wish you good luck. You're not the only one.

Many phone calls looking for payment already made

I've been getting many phone calls from chrysler financial telling me i'm late on my payment...thing is, i have bank records to back up the fact i am NOT behind on my payments.I've been told on my last encounter it is a "system error". BALONEY!!!

Thing is...chrysler financial was purchased by GMAC financing. I've never had a problem before this, and most of the complaints i see are after they were purchased.

I am currently seeking re-financing from another company so I can get away from these vultures.Trying to get paid twice? (grrrr!)

I also recently checked online, and my account is showing "past due." The other thing that bothers me is the lady said there is a "hold" on my account so they can get the "system error" fixed...I DON'T have a good feeling about this...gotta get out from under these fools quickly.

I've got the same problem. I was two weeks behind on one payment for two vehicles.

It wasn't that I didn't have the money- I just was crazy busy working three jobs and forgot to go online and make the payment. I told the rep, "Sorry. I'm logging on right now and I'll pay it online through my online banking." No WAY was I giving this guy my info over the phone- I don't trust these people as far as I can throw them. He kept trying to keep me on the phone, talking really slow, asking me about the next payment coming up- was I going to be paying that one too?

I told him that it wasn't even due for another two weeks. Then he wanted to keep me on the phone longer and make sure I had the grand total of what I needed to pay. I told him, "Thank you, but I have the invoice delivered to my online banking- I know exactly the amount due." I finally had to hang up on the guy because he wouldn't shut up. Well, I DID go online and pay it as soon as we got off the phone.

The payment cleared several days ago, and they're STILL calling me? What gives?

Chrysler Repo'ed Dually

I purchased disability insurance when I bought my 2006 Dodge 1 ton dually. I made my payments on time until I became unexpectedly disabled in 2009.

I informed Chrysler Finance that I had become disabled. Sent all the needed paperwork to the insurance underwriter. Thought all was good until 29 Sept this year when to my horror my truck was gone.

After 8 weeks of playing phone tag with Chrysler come to find out they hadn't credited my account with payments from insurance company. Chrysler turned my account over to collections, repoed the truck, took all my personal items (which have since vanished to the tune of 5K)and sold my truck at auction.

I want to Sue Chrysler Financial

I am not happy with chrysler financial with how I have been treated by the them. I bought a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix Gt back in 2007,and they made me pay more then what the car really was worth at the time of purchase.

I let the car go and stoped making the payment's,and had a company called beat the repo man come out to get it,but then chrysler financial had there repo man recover it from beat the repo man company.I feel that at the time of purchase, that I had been over charged on vehicle that for the money, should have gotten me into a 2007 Chev Impala SS for the money that I spent. If anyone can help me,then please call me at (320)209-**** or my cell at (612)369-****. Ps I also have autism and I feel I was really taken avantage of when I made this purchase of the Pontiac Grand Prix GT.
